Miss AmyVolunteer language arts teacher
Amy Johnson is a professor and executive in residence for the Pepperdine University Seaver College Business Administration Division. She has a BA in business and an MA in social entrepreneurship, both from Pepperdine. Amy is also a board member at the Wooten Center.
Mr. CaseyWooten Education Specialist, math lead teacher
Victor Casey oversees our daily homework and tutoring, including serving as our math and SAT-prep teacher. He came to the center with more than nine years experience as a math teacher and tutor for two charter schools. He has an AA in animation from Santa Monica Community College and is completing his BA degree in math at Western Governor's University.
Miss ChristianeWooten Education Director
Christiane Townsend has a BA in English from UCLA and an MA in education from CSU Northridge. She worked as a teacher for LA Unified School District for 10 years. She is currently a principal at Crescent Heights Early Education Center, also serving as education director at the Wooten Center.
Miss IsidraWooten education specialist, language arts lead teacher
Isidra Person-Lynn has a BA in English from Union College and an MA in journalism from USC. She formerly worked on air as public affairs director for KACE radio and as a professor teaching English and journalism at West Los Angeles College. She most recently worked in communications at Charles Drew University.
Mr. MichaelVolunteer math teacher
Michael Bacharach has over 30 years of experience in Information Technology ranging from Wall Street to Hollywood. His current position is Sr. Vice President Technology at the Walt Disney company. At Disney he is focused on creating various technology products to support the digital delivery of Film and TV to companies and consumers around the world. He was referred by our board member, Amy Johnson, a Pepperdine professor and language arts tutor.
Miss SarrahVolunteer math teacher
Sarrah Val has a BA in Integrative Physiology, with a Minor in Mathematics, from the University of Colorado – Boulder and is due to complete her MPH from USC in 2020. Sarrah has 5+ years of math tutoring experience and has worked as a university Teaching Assistant. Her professional experience lies in the clinical research industry, and she currently serves as the Director of Business Development for mdgroup, providing clinical research solutions to bio-pharma industries.
There are a lot of caring souls at the Wooten Center. All of our Wooten Online teachers and partners are committed to helping our students achieve their best. They are also great at being patient and instructive with our kids, always striving for that safe and nurturing environment our mission calls for. We appreciate everyone for their dedication.
