After 25 years, our Wooten Golf Classic has another beautiful name. The John Lapham Golf Classic will be held for the first time in 2025, honoring our long-time board member and chairperson John G. Lapham III who passed away in 2022 after a biking accident.
See photos above with John's very faithful involvement through the years as a golf sponsor and scorer. Some capture times when John came just to greet guests before heading back to work for a meeting at PineBridge Investments, where staff members donated more than $175,000 after John's passing in his honor. We greatly appreciate every one.
The tournament on Mon, Nov 17, 10am-5pm, at Porter Valley Country Club in Northridge marks the first time the event has been held in person since 2019, before the pandemic. Thank you to John's lovely wife Evelyn and their children Emily and Thomas for allowing us to host this event honoring his legacy providing college and career readiness afterschool for thousands of Wooten Center students. Thank you to Evelyn for joining our board, building on John's 25+ years as a director. We thank all of our contributors this year for also helping sustain our work.
