College and Career Readiness Resources

I'm going to college!
The Wooten Center starts at grade 3 helping students prepare for college and careers. We partner with parents to ensure our students know how to identify and prepare for their goals.
Tips
-
Be sure to advise that plans can change! No problem!
-
Expose them to a variety of college and career options and let them explore. Involve them in experiential learning via mentors, internships and other extracurricular activities that can help make them more attractive to college recruiters and admissions officers.
-
Encourage them to take AP courses in high school to increase their GPA and qualify for the college or university of their choice.
-
Check with your local community college or university for classes for high school students. Another way to boost their GPA!
-
For students who want to play sports in college, introduce them to NCAA eligibility requirements.
